Cell Gathering Dinner

Just came home from a short 'yumcha' session with Tim, Joanne, SunSun and SukYee. Happy birthday again to Sun! LOL...

Anyway, had a really enjoyable dinner at 6-10 Grill & Nasi Lemak with my cell members continued with a super funny Mafia session at SaiKit's house! I guess now we know who is the pro deceiver though!! Dinner was supposed to be in My Elephant (Thai food) again but due to some miscommunication with the reservation made with the staffs there, we weren't able to have our dinner and that was why we ended up at 6-10. Bad first time impression of them to my cell members though, but nontheless we had a fair time of jokes and chats during the dinner.

Red Wine Grill Lamb and Nasi Lemak stole the lime light though but my Garlic Butter Grill Salmon was also simply fantastic!! 6-10 has a quite a good long history with their ever well known Nasi Lemak and Western food. After dinner, 13 of us crashed into our cell leader's house to play the MAFIA game and we had a great time there.

Bee King's Wedding Night!

A post wedding dinner update on my dear cell member, Bee King's auspicious night!! Most of the Goshen cell members arrived at about 6pm @ Sunway Hotel Grand Ballroom. Thanks father-to-be 'Lui kor kor' for fetching me both day and night last Saturday. We had to reach early that evening to do sound check and final rehearsal for our song presentation for Bee King and her hubby. The settings was lovely and I was stunned by the beautiful huge ballroom where I have to do my Solo ending for Bee King!! Oh no!! 80 tables = 800 audience!!! Anyway, since it's Bee King's night and it's only gonna be that short 20 seconds perhaps, I'll do it for her!!

The night started off as Sai Kit, Goshen's cell leader, Emcee'd the night by welcoming the lovely couple into the hall, onto the stage for cutting of the wedding cake ceremony! Bee King was indeed stunningly gorgeous that night and Ah Kee was at his best too! Well, after the couple toss, 5th dish and Sai Kit's story telling, it was time for our song presentation!! We presented 2 songs for them that night. The first was "I love you for sentimental reasons" and continued with"L O V E" with Jin May on the keyboard. I assume the crowd loved our performances after some post dinner comments when we were leaving the hotel by some friends and I hope my solo part didn't screw up as I think it could have been. haha..

Well, Chris and I had more than 10 glasses of wine that evening while Jason and Lui enjoyed their privately ordered coffee!! I can say that the wedding banquet went smoothly that night and I am sure Bee King and hubby enjoyed the most out of it! Once again, CONGRATULATIONS and may God showers His Blessings upon your marriage. Wishing you plenty of wonderful years ahead and happy honeymoon! =D

Cat and Dog Theology Part 2

For those who missed out the part 1, Cat and Dog Theology is actually based on an old joke about the differences between cat and dogthat conveys their differences perfectly. A dog says "You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me and you love me, you must be God." while a cat would say "You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me and you love me, I must be God..."

In a cat perspective, they are into Christianity for themselves. If there's someone or something that could give them a better life, they would seriously consider it. Why? Because their focus is not on God but on themselves. Cats are into it far more for more what they can get out of it than for the opportunity to radiate God's glory and to advance God's kingdom. Dog says "No, It's all about God's glory"

Although there is only one way to heaven, there can be different reasons of wanting to get there.

For Cats, they see the option of hell and they want to run away from it. Cats are moving towards heaven but they are walking backward, focused on hell. A cat says "I don't want to go to hell" Their focus is on themselves, only their lives. Although it's not a bad start but it falls far short of what a dog wants.

Dogs want to go to heaven for different reasons. Dogs are also moving away from hell and towards heaven, but they walk forward. Hell is behind and heaven is in front. A Dog says "I've found Someone not only beautiful, but He is beauty. I found Someone not only powerful, but He is Almighty. I found Someone not only loving, but He is Love. I got to give my LIFE TO HIM"

A Dog's salvation is described in Matthew 13:44 The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again,and then in his in his joy went and sod all he had and bought that field." The man had found a treasure that was of great worth than all the other things he possessed. He joyfully relinquished all of his other possessed to obtain this one great treasure!!

Why are so many Christian joyless? Because their salvation is basically fire insurance. They are merely walking away from hell, focused on themselves. they have never discovered the treasure. When your just walking away from hell,there is relief, but no joy. Dogs demonstrate their salvation by the fact that they hunger for God and want more and more of him in their livesand shine to their lives.

Pure Life Orphanage Visit #3

It was supposingly Goshen's final visit to Pure Life though before we actually pass our baton to the next cell that is going to continue our reaching out activity to the less fortunate kids. Unfortunately, the other adult cell couldn't joined us today coz of some last minute arrangements. Anyway, I was late that night though thanks to a super last minute car break down back at home. *sighhh*~

I did not give up. Though I was a little late, I quickly get my car done with the help of Auto Assist from my insurance company and then drove my dad's car off to the Orphanage Centre. All the kids and of coz my lovely cell members applaud when I arrive. hahaha.. They were happy indeed to see me though I was late. Everyone was asking if my car ok anot. swttzzzz...

Anyway, that night we had some sharings about our personal walk of life and the kids was so attracted to our story that they kept 100% focus on our sharings. All of us came from different backgrounds and I understand that the kids, all of them, come from really tough background. Yet, the perseverance and commitment that they have towards their own life sparked my thought and I said to myself "Am I taking my life a little for granted?"

My cell leader shared that there were once a beautiful kite, belonging to these 2 kids. The kite was the most beautiful of all among others up in the sky. And the kite said "I wish I could get off the string that is holding me back so that I could go further and see more things and be as free as the bird." One day there came a heavy rain with a strong wind. The string holding the kite broken and the kite flew off happily higher and higher. Just as the kite thought he was free joyfully, it suddenly fell downwards and landed on a tree. Birds came and tore the kite apart and use its body to build nest. The kids then came looking for the kite and found it on top of a tree and they said to the kite. I had a string to hold u back is because I don't want you to fall yourself helplessly. All I wanted was to keep you flying as high and as beautiful as you can be. I want the best for you.

Sometimes we ponder, there could be someone that is always guiding us as we grow up. We may think negatively and that the someone always hold us back. But our loved ones only want the best for us!! And I think this applies to all parents and even guardians. Time to think twice and love your family more ya!

Cat and Dog Theology??

Life. It's not really about us, me, I, mine, my......... It's all about Jesus!!

I went for cell meeting just now and we started to learn about this "Cat and Dog Theology" and it really captured my mind and struck me hard. It gaved me a whole new paradigm shift on how it really reflects on our lives, even as Christians. Being the "cat", it's always about me and me alone, but on the "dog"'s perspective, it's always about God and Him alone!!

The first lesson started of with Genesis Chapter 1, and the speaker went on to read the whole passage of Chapter 1, from day 1 itself to the creation of heaven and earth. Most of us might be thinking why is he speaking all over again as if we don't know the passage. Some might even get bored and wonder why? Well, the answer to it could be because "we were not even there" at the creation of heaven and earth, so why bother?? Or.... why is it important to me?? People will only be interested from chapter 3 onwards coz only then it involves "ME".

Who is the main character of the Bible?? ME or God?? When we do our quiet time, is it because of what I can get out of God?? or because we wanto praise and honor God?? In "cat" theology, it's always about WDIG - What Do I Get?? But "dog" theology will be WDGG - What Does God Get?? Many of us might do quiet time for the sake of doing it, which i sometimes did but hey.... Some might do it because he/she is looking to get something out of it!! It's really time to change into a whole new perspective!! It's all about God!!! We wanto honor and praise and glorify HIM!!

John 3:16 - "For God so love the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Why did God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross?? Many of us will say, to die for our sins... to save us from eternal death... for US..... But Jesus died on the cross primarily is to honor God. To glorify His name. What does God get?? Praise, Honor, Worship, Glory!! It's all about Him!! Eternal life so that we can worship Him in Heaven!!

It was really awesome to learn this "cat and dog theology" as it makes me think differently and experience Jesus and my walk with Him in a whole new perspective =) All praise and honor to the Lord!

Pure Life 2nd Visit (Photo Poster Making)

It was our 2nd visit to Pure Life at Puchong after a fruitful bonding with the kids on our first trip. This time, we were there to have a photo poster making session. After much preparation work for the past weeks, we brought the neatly decorated manila cards of various colors to the homes. We developed photos from the first visit and brought it along as well to be distributed to the kids.

The night started off with Osbert leading the ice breaking session with an exciting game called "In and Out of the Pond". The kids together with the rest of the Goshen cell's members had lotsa fun!! It was battle of the sex'es and of course the guyz was the better side for that game. Soon after, we split into respective groups and started to do the photo poster work.

All of them, boyz and girlz, were very excited with it and put full effort in making the best poster out of it. Cuttings, pastings, drawings and writings took place and each of them were supposed to write something good about their friends. About 20 minutes later, everyone was done and we started sharing about what the poster really mean to them. What have they learned during the process? One answered "teamwork"! confidently. One even said he was touched to see the good things his friend wrote about him.

I sense that there was something that moved their hearts and I believe that God is really working. I was so glad that the kids responded so well that night and I'm pretty sure that the poster meant alot to them. If not now, perhaps few years later when they search through their drawers or cupboards holding back at their poster and think back... And I believe even in our daily lives, little thing or good deed that we do, will make a huge difference in someone else's life =)
